I know that for me, you're right. It's not genuine

hunger.

I like to eat. I like to try new foods, and cook,

and talk with friends over dinner. Food is

associated with pleasure for me.

I have experienced the feeling of needing to eat b/c

my blood sugar was too low....

I experience cravings on a daily basis.

The only time I believe I have ever really been hungry

was when I was suffering from an eating disorder.

And even then I simply disconnected myself from the

feeling. That's the only reason I can feel when my

blood sugar drops- I ate just enough to keep myself

from crashing. It wasn't healthy at all, and I hope I

am never truly hungry again!

Kerri, would you consider exploring the distinction between pleasure and

joy?
