Jeannie,

Where do you get dark raw agave? I've only been able to find the light in

the raw.

Caron,

I have never been able to eat molasses. It tastes quite nasty to me, always

has. I am really loving the agave syrup. I am so happy I found the dark raw

agave. I use it on so many things. It is my dream come true....LOL I have

such a sweet tooth.

Caron, you are correct. Molasses are:

1. Not raw.

2. Not food ... for us OR for bovines.

3. Grain is also not food ... for us or for bovines. Roughly 1/2 of all the

sodium bicarbonate sold in the U.S. is fed to cows, who experience awful

indigestion when they are fed grains.

Best,

Elchanan

>I would have recommended molasses. LOL.

This is another thing that confuses me, and makes me wonder if it's another

language thing. We used to feed molasses to the cattle during the drought,

mixed it with a grain, maybe oats? I got some recently, and it tastes vile.

I've looked into the processing of sugar cane, and first they get the raw

sugar out, then the white sugar (or maybe the other way around? golden syrup

is in there somewhere too), then the brown sugar, then the leftover burnt

waste is the molasses. I can't see how all this processing, and the fact

that it's junk, makes it a raw food, or even a food at all. Is it something

different in the States?

Thanks for the clarification, Elchanan. I'm still a little confused as to

why some recommend it as part of a raw food diet, but then there's a few

things recommended that aren't exactly raw or food.

Re it being fed to the cattle, there was no grass, and the molasses and

grain was to supplement the hay. When it rained, they just grazed. I know

they feed grains at dairies here, and yes, they have salt licks - my

stepdad's uncle had a dairy farm that we used to go to, and we'd actually

mix the salt in with the grains for them to eat while they were milked. They

had access to that for the length of time they were on the machine, the rest

of the time they grazed. I know it's probably different on different farms.

Tommie,

I found it at Whole Foods, it was right next to the light one. I love the

taste.
