Guest guest
My last did not go through so I'm asking again. My son has said that sprouted beans still need to be cooked. Because they are toxic and can hurt you if not cooked. He is on the breading the vicious cycle the book was given to him by his dr. I want to know what to say to him about beans such as black, kidney beans. Theresa \o/
Guest guest
Hi Theresa, I don't eat any legumes (at least not intentionally , that is why I personally did not respond. But I am aware that many RFs have consumed sprouted legumes for decades and live comfortably without purchasing any diagnoses. Guest guest
Theresa, Sprouts of many types - including mung bean sprouts - have been a primary food in the RF schools that come from the Ann Wigmore and Hippocrates Institute for 50+ years. I eat a lot of them and have no digestive difficulties. My wife, however - when she was having quite acute digestive problems did have a difficult time digesting mung sprouts. But, she was having a problem with many foods. She now also has no problem with bean sprouts either. I took a quick look at the website for Breaking the Vicious Cycle. It seems solely focused on what does or doesn't feed 'bad' intestinal bacteria. Not on overall health. My personal preference and recommendation would be to eat a diet that heals and nourishes the whole system. In time this will include the digestive system. Eating a diet that nourishes and alkalizes the body will create an environment where the " bad " bacteria can no longer thrive in the gut. In three months of 100% raw, my wife has created a digestive system that is working pretty well (from one that created lots of gas and diarrhea), stopped taking synthroid (for low thyroid) without feeling tired, stopped taking bipolar medication without experiencing wide mood swings. She's been on and off raw for about 5 years. This is the first time that she's stuck with it this long. And... she's amazed at how she feels! And wonders why she couldn't stick with it before? Then remembers - Oh Yeah! all that emotional work she's done in the last few years... She doesn't need to run from those uncomfortable feelings...!!! ..wyn The Raw Retreat http://TheRawRetreat.com o) 888.EAT.RAW4LIFE f) 877.236.6999
