Guest guest
Wyn, I love how you put this!! One way to perceive all this is in the distinction between genuine hunger vs. craving. Whenever we allow ourselves to experience a genuinely connected, fulfilling relationship, then over time we feel satiated emotionally. We may indeed notice others, feel a sense of curiosity, attraction, and the like ... yes, I agree that these responses reflect our aliveness. But whenever we " must have " whomever the object of the moment is, that is a craving, not genuine hunger or desire. But notice my use of " allow ourselves to experience " . Most of us carry so much unresolved pain and fear that we dare not ever really allow ourselves to experience anything to the fullest ... connection, love, pain, joy, fear .... nothing. All human feelings flow through a single spigot. Either we feel them all, or we feel them not. This is why, from my perspective, this journey along the path of health involves far more than diet, far more than just things physical. Until we attend to our subconscious programming and to our emotional well-being, most of the journey still lies before us. I've never been able to understand the degree of being out of integrity with MYSELF necessary to cheat on a partner - let alone the degree of being out of integrity with them. That doesn't mean I'm not attracted to other women at times. And in fact, I think that I am is healthy. It means all the systems are working. But attracted doesn't mean " gotta have " . And, I am attracted to the same 'ol type. The deep thinking, deep feeling, wounded bird type. Not necessarily a healthy energetic profile. Thanks mom! ;-) Took me until I was 50 to attract one that had done enough inner work to have a stable relationship. More true that it took me until 50 to do enough of my own inner work to attract one that could have a stable relationship. ..wyn

Guest guest
Elchanan, Yes. It's that craving thing. Whether it's another person, chocolate cake, alcohol, ice cream, etc. We have created this world we live in out of fear and desire. It causes and is caused by that empty feeling most of us have. Until we do the work to discover the energetic chords that are connected to that emptiness we continue to do things we think will satisfy that empty feeling. Approaching the emptiness feels like fear. Most people stay busy physically or mentally to avoid the feelings that bubble up when we are quiet. And we self-medicate with all kinds of things that we put in our bodies to avoid those feelings. One day, years ago, in the mountains, I had this visceral experience of those energetic chords being like feeding tubes. I was the vampire - sucking energy from other people and activities trying to fill up that empty space. I did a ceremony - got into the state where I could feel the tubes, grabbed them and with an axe cut them over a large stump! That created a lot of freedom. I wasn't done.... There was still more work to do with individual energetic patterns - psychological programs. But after that day I could allow myself to feel that empty place and not be afraid. Not act covertly to try to fill it up. I'm certainly no saint! I still get triggered by stuff. I still act out. What's different is that I catch myself closer and closer to the trigger point. And at the moment of seeing and feeling clearly --- the trance is broken. Choice is a possibility once again. Enjoy and be well! ..wyn The Raw Retreat http://TheRawRetreat.com o) 888.EAT.RAW4LIFE f) 877.236.6999
