On the cost of Organic Raw Food

The traditional solution to eating raw on a budget is to eat LOTS of

sprouts, supplemented with other veggies, fruits, nuts and seeds.

LOTS means 6-8 (or more) cups a day of a variety of sprouts to get

the needed nutrition and calories.

If you have time but not money you can grow sunflower and buckwheat

greens. Very cheap, but time intensive.

Somewhere on this journey each person comes face to face with choices

related to satisfying addicted taste buds and addictive emotional

triggers. When cash poor, there is still a way. But you can't be a

slave to taste. You have to be committed to wellness.

On the organic fruit expense...

In this group Elchanan replies a lot from his experience which

includes LOTS of fruit. There is another way that has 50 years of

documented experience with diet and health. The Hippocrates diet at

present included NO fruit. They agree with the 80-10-10 folks about

the carb/fat/protein mix. Their target is 80-90% complex carbs, 5-10%

fat, 5-10% protein. Total calorie intake of 2000+ depending on your

activity.

Again, you have to eat a lot of sprouts and greens to get to the

amount of calories needed. In the beginning you have to almost force

yourself - it just seems like too much food. The body quickly adjusts

learns to digest and eliminate the quantity with no discomfort.

My personal experience is that I only feel overly full if I've eaten

emotionally. In those cases I usually eat something that doesn't

digest well and the gas produced is what has me feel full. It's not

the amount of food. Except for those meals, the fullness is really

the feeling of being sated. It's a feeling of fullness that is

pleasurable - very different from the feeling of trying to fill up

that emotional void with food.

Be well!
