Hi Jeannie,

I'm responding here only to the portion of your email excerpted below.

Homeopathy is based upon profoundly different principles than the other

substance-based treatment modalities of which I am aware. All the other

modalities arise in the context of chemistry ... the substance you " take " or

" administer " is supposed to act chemically in some specified way.

In contrast, homeopathy uses only a tiny, TINY amount of the substance

diluted 1/100, 1/1000, sometimes more, in water. There is no reliance upon

chemistry at all. Instead, Samuel Hahnemann's idea was that the mere

presence of a hint of a substance would motivate or trigger the body's own,

innate response to an existing symptom or condition. j

Hahnemann coined the " Law of Similars " , as follows: If you have a symptom,

and if a given substance is also known to trigger the same symptom, then

regardless of whether that substance bears any relationship to the problem

at hand, simply exposing one's system to that substance, in a minute

quantity, would energetically trigger the body to cleanse and heal itself.

In other words, homeopathy is energy work, not biochemical therapy,, 100%.

Hahnemann also coined the term " retracing " to describe the recurrence or

reappearance of old, unfinished symptoms in the presence of the " right "

triggering homeopathic. In other words, the body would go back and finish

whatever cleansing and restoration work it had been unable to complete in

the past. I incorporate this idea into my teaching.

Does this help clarify?

Best,

Elchanan

Elchanan,

I am still needing to learn more about the garlic and oninion thing....

In the practice of Homeopathy it is thought that a small amount of poison

will cure symptoms and disease. This was invented by Samuel Hahnemann

(1755-18430)

So by this theory it would be acceptable to think that a small amount of

garlic would help to cure an illness.

Which might be why some people used garlic to help cure various maladies.

In medical history going back to the begining....medicine was practiced by

" witch doctors, barbers, sorcerers " Garlic and onions were used to cure

various illnesses.

Elchanan,

I agree and I think it has been proven that this does work. If one eats a bit

of garlic, is that not a tiny amount of the substance?? It is diluted in the

foods it is put in. Some people take the garlic capsules that becomes diluted in

the water they drink it down with. I think that it falls in the category of

Homeopathy. Don't you?

Law of Similars = " Like cures Like " . So given that.......if garlic is a poison,

would it not kill a disease process? It is ingested in a relatively tiny amount.

Perhaps I'm just fishing for a reason to keep it around. LOL
