Hi Jeannie and all,

When we observe human infants, indeed all mammalian infants, we cannot help

but notice their seemingly boundless expressions of curiosity and, at least

with human babies, wide-eyed wonderment. From my perspective, this sense of

curiosity represents a part of who we are as a species; it lies at the

foundation of our innate intelligence, it is part of our birthright.

As we transition toward a more healthful diet and lifestyle, we have the

option, in every moment, to approach all that we do from such a place of

curiosity and wonderment. When we come from such a place, then everything we

experience becomes a process of exploration and discovery, and learning and

of choosing. And just babies thoroughly enjoy their early explorations in

the world, so, too, we may enjoy and even revel in our journey into health.

This perspective lies in clear contrast to what I often hear people say,

that this is " hard " , " restrictive " , and so forth. Instead, look at each

potential change as a choice, not away from or against something, but rather

as a choice FOR something.

When we choose to live in such a mindset, then everything becomes easier,

even exciting, and we go forward with a great sense of purpose and joy.

Best to all,

Elchanan

PS: Regarding lycopene, yes, a popular nutrient to discuss for the moment.

Do not be swayed by conversations about the nutrient of the month, for

you'll be wading in mental quicksand. Instead, focus upon creating a diet

and lifestyle filled with ALL the nutrients we need ... whether we know what

they are, or not. We are the only animal on the planet that has even a

single, conscious thought about such things. We need not do so in order to

thrive. E

Re: [Raw Food] to Elchanan

I was going to say.....being raw is hard enough in the beginning....to have

to restrict the raw foods one eats would make it that much harder. I eat

alot of tomatoes. I love tomatoes...and what about the Lycopene? Isn't that

good for your heart?
