Guest guest
Lynne, here is a suggestion for you, courtesy of Dr. Doug Graham's teaching about athletic performance. Divide " dinner " into two parts, the first part one fruit, the second part whatever (for the moment). Then choose one fruit .... any fruit ... and eat that fruit until you are satisfied. Then wait awhile (maybe an hour, give or take) and eat part 2. The idea is to fuel your system with simple sugars and to hydrate your system before dinner. Then you will likely see your desire for dates late at night just comfortably vanish. Elchanan, As far as I know, I " m not consuming any salt other than the naturally occurring salt in celery and other vegetables and fruits. I probably NEED to put more space between dinner time and bedtime though. Sometimes, I go to sleep just an hour after my last snack of dates. Sometimes, because of our schedule with the kids and physical therapy, I don't get to eat dinner until 8:30 or 9:00, and then bed at 11:00, which is really too soon after eating a large dinner salad. Thanks for the advice! I'll try to stop eating by 7:00. I " ll just need to eat my dinner BEFORE I go to PT. Lynne
Guest guest
Lynne, Apart from being interested in raw food I am reading much about the Ayurveda, which is the oldest health system in the world. In Ayurvedic medicine, insomnia is often associated with a vata imbalance. Vata regulates breathing and circulation. People with a vata imbalance often notice irritability, anxiety, and fear with insomnia. One Ayurvedic treatment is the application of oil on the head and feet. For the pitta type, room temperature coconut oil is used, for the vata type, warm sesame oil is applied, and for the kapha type, warm mustard oil is often applied. The oil massaging and other ayurveda remedies helped me a lot. Please, google " vata insomnia " or " ayurveda insomnia " that will come up with lots of information. Best regards, paule
