Such self-sacrifice is not altruism ... it is merely self-sacrifice ... the

destruction of oneself to " help " others until one no longer can.

 

Principle #1: The more we have, the more we have to give. Genuine self-love

engenders genuine self-care. These are prerequisites for having, and

therefore for sustainable giving and receiving.

 

Principle #2: Giving and receiving are one. Without genuine receiving, there

is no giving, only self-sacrificing in the presence of someone who is taking

without receiving. Genuine giving and receiving are uplifting and nourishing

for all involved, whereas self-sacrificing and taking are self-destructive

and depleting to all involved (yes, even to the taker, whose sense of self

is diminished by each such transaction).

so's prostitution....but she may not want to do that!...

 

i find most social workers to be extremely altruistic people...self

sacrificing to the extreme...somehow event planning doesnt strike me

as very much in line with that...

 

i could be wrong...
