Guest guest
Hello... I am weighing in a bit late on this, simply because I couldn't believe it was happening. I remember back in the late 60s and early 70s when hippies decided to leave off deodorant. Man, were we a smelly bunch! My friends and I gave up that idea about 3 days after we started it... we all sheepishly picked up the deodorant in secret, and it took us all about 3 or 4 weeks to find out we were not the only ones.... P-U!!!!! I don't care what anybody says... humans are animals, and we are perfectly capable of working up a good STINK. (maybe you only hang out in airconditioning and do not move much, but, even then, you will STINK after a bit. Don't believe me? stick your nose under your arm about 6 hours after you shower.) Some societies in this world still think that human body odor (B.O.) is an attractive thing, however, if you have lived in an English speaking society (or most others) for all or most of your life, you KNOW that B.O. is not a fun thing to sit next to. If your nose has developed (or deteriorated) to the point that serious body odor does not bother you, well, God bless you. Most of us are not so blessed. Those around us are similarly unblessed. We need to do something about that dank armpit smell. Please check out the list files. If you look under Natural Home & Body Care/Face, Body, Skin & Nails, you will find the Deodorant folder, which lists several natural deodorant options. (you will still sweat, because they are not anti-perspirants, but you will not smell bad.) Viva civilization! I am not willing to subject my neighbor to a smell I would not want to sit next to. I do not live in a jungle, but, rather, a large, crowded city. I am going to use personal hygiene products that make me smell nice and look pretty. (I was a hippie a long time ago.. I got over at least the outward trappings) I am not depressed enough yet about being old to cut off all my hair, let my body go to pot, and stop wearing makeup, i.e., while I *am* crone age, I don't think I have to descend into the depths of cronism and look miserable as well. (okay, where I come from, we are taught that we should present and attractive picture for others to see, and, at this advanced age, I don't see why I should deliberately want to look any uglier than I have to. No, I don't buy the " God made me this way " argument.... God gave someone the inspiration to make lipstick and mascara, and I want to enjoy the bounty that God has provided.) <sweet smile> Margaret
