Hi All..

A lovely article that I'd like to share...

http://karenknowler.typepad.com/living_in_the_raw/2007/05/what_lays_beyo

n.html

I saw this after thinking about the response to posting a seed dressing

& caution against it, & then someone having begun to prepare to make it

& then one word from someone else & then rejecting it. I was a little

baffled, until I finally twigged, or rather made the effort to check

out Doug Grahams site & the preference for his 80/10/10 approach by

Elchanan.

Apart from the seed sauce not being something I'd rely on or use that

often, & understanding his take on cider vinegar & celtic sea salt

etc.I was still confused as to why it was considered such high

fat...sprouted seeds are high protein, nuts are more high fat..anyway,

but that wasn't the point, for me...it surely depended on what you ate

it with & how often etc. And then I realised the 80/10/10 approach,

which is not something I am presently, specifically following ...80 %

carbs 10 % fat 10% protein..

For me, it changes from day to day & is intuitive etc.But it all

depends on what I teem it up with...which would be be high greens &

vegs...which would then determine whether that meal for me was

correctly balanced out...and not be too high in fat.

As for sunflower seeds I do rate them...esp. for those making a raw

transition..

So seeing that it was instantly rejected by someone...by someone elses

say so...where as if they were following their own intuition,or even

the 80 / 10 / 10 approach, surely they would have known...Also aware

that Shazzie's Detox Your World has also been recomended by that

person...and yet her recipes are full of high fat & the sunflower seeds

etc. seed cheeses etc. etc.

And I was a little baffled...but then this article came my way & helped

me to understand what is important for me at the moment. And I'd like to

share that as something I am working with & aspiring to.

I will at some point endeavour to read the book, 80/10/10 but until

then I would endeavour to become my own best teacher. Even the guru was

there to help awaken ones own inner guru ultimately.

All the best to You

Makaela
