Hi Neal and all,

There is a great deal of difference between animal- and plant-based fats.

They are not equivalent at all. For example, we are not designed to process

cholesterol originating outside ourselves. Animal foods are generally high

in cholesterol, plant foods basically have none (or " trace " ).

We " can " process animal fats, to a limited degree ... we " can " process many

things to a limited degree. But such processing is costly in metabolic

terms. We do best with plant-based fats ... in very small quantities. We do

indeed require certain fat-soluble nutrients ... and we also possess the

capacity to STORE such nutrients ... BECAUSE they are fat-soluble.

I am aware of zero organizations that deal with high-performance living ...

world-class athletes, world-class entertainers, etc. ... that recommend any

form of high-fat diet for human consumption. The reason is simple enough:

they simply cannot perform their best on a high-fat program.

Best to all,

Elchanan

Hi Caroline,

Just one thing on raw and fat. We have all been completely mislead regarding

animal fats. There is nothing intrinsically wrong with fat, in fact there is

a great deal of usefull nutrition available from this source, but only raw

unprocessed fat. It is entirely the processing that causes the harm. I

respectfully suggest you further your reading. And you are probably

providing

your daughter with the best thing for her. I only wish I could find a source

of raw cows milk.

neal.
