Guest guest
Hi everyone, Recently we had a brief conversation about methods of body fat measurement. I took the question back into the PathOfHealth group, and our community's co-founder, Bob Farrell, offered the following in response. Just one more available approach. Best to all, Elchanan _____ Bob Farrell Friday, May 25, 2007 4:00 AM [PathOfHealth] % Body Fat equation - online CALCULATION link (online body fat calculator) Hello all! We've had some recent question about % body fat, and how it can be a much better health indicator that body weight. I've researched some online calculators, and have found one that does a decent job. It's located here: <http://www.scientificpsychic.com/fitness/diet.html> http://www.scientificpsychic.com/fitness/diet.html If you just ignore the last line in the final result box that talks about how much protein is recommended, we'll be in good shape! (pun intended!) I've found that it helps to allow a margin of error with all of these, and assume that they are accurate to within a couple of percentage points. It's an " indicator " , not a definitive result. If we use the same calculator, it can help us track progress. Note that the program also includes some minimum caloric requirements, based upon activity levels. Have fun! best, Bob
