Sarah, i want to give you a hug. because i have been in groups before where i

felt attacked and so i was defensive before i took the time to really really

absorb what was being said. it is really a hard position to be in.

i saw no judgement at all Elchanan's words. no, it is not a perfect world.

but we can choose to make our small part of it the best it can possibly be. it

is unfortunate that extended breastfeeding is considered child abuse where you

live.....some one better lock me up.

i hope that you will re read what he said. absorb it without defensiveness.

there is so much to learn.

peace,

laura

have jobs outside of the home so they can support their families and keep

roofs over their heads. I am finding alot of your comments to be judgmental

on how we raise our kids without leaving a chance to discuss. You talk as

though we are bad parents for not doing it the way you see it. When there

is not alotof information out there to support that this way is infact safe

for a child. I just feel your comments are picking at our abilities as

parents and the negitive. Do you have children, have you done everything

perfectly with them?

Sorry to butt in, BUT.......lol, I just couldn't help but toss my unsolicited 2

cents in:

As I've been reading these posts as an outsider and unbiased. I also see the

responses as " defensive " in nature. I don't see anyone attacking anyone. Often

times (it is my opinion) that people/we get defensive if we feel, some kind of

guilt about what choices we may make or feel we have to make in our lives. Often

times we fear we are being bad parents or that others may see us as " bad

parents " when, in fact, they are just giving sound information. If I don't feel

guilty of something then a statement or comment is not going to hit me as a

slight or personal attack in any way.

What I love about elchanan is the profound knowledge and generosity in sharing

this information for all of us who desperately wish to " soak it all up " .

I love this group!!!

Jeannie

your time is the most cherished gift of all, tomorrow is promised to no one.
