I have been hearing and reading about cocao nibs and wanted to know if

any of you eat these. Do you like them? What do they cost? Where do

you get them and how many should be eaten a day.

The only place I maybe, and I mean maybe I could find them would be at

a Wild Oats Market that is about an hours drive from me.

How long can they keep?

Also, how do you all eat them? Just as is, like eating nuts, or some

other way?

Hi Belinda

This morning my first consignment of cacao nibs arrived (a few £s for

a small bag from The Fresh Network in UK, but no doubt available many

places mail order in the US. Lucky you if you can get them retail.).

I had already had raw chocolate (Shazzie, Kate Woods, Jess Michael in

UK, David Wolfe and probably many others in US) and loved it.

These cacao nibs are VERY good! As to how many you should eat..I

don't know. I wanted to just eat a very few of them, but - um - it's

not working out that way...they are the most 'moreish' thing I've

eaten since going raw (which probably means I shouldn't be eating

them). My non-raw husband isn't impressed - says, politely, 'hmm,

interesting...' I think anyone who likes 'dark' chocolate and/or raw

chocolate will love them.

They are a bit 'nutty', and you chew them, and keep them in your mouth

for a while, in fact as long as possible they're so good!

At the same time, I also received a packet of goji berries. I'd been

somewhat irritated about what I'd perceived as hype about these rather

expensive berries, and had consequently put off buying them. But they

are VERY good as well - well worth ordering!

When I'm wondering whether to spend, eg, £5-10 on a tiny bag of some

special raw ingredient, I like to remind myself that I don't spend

money on pizza/Chinese delivery anymore! I've almost managed to

convince myself.

Love
