Guest guest
Hi Michelle, Great questions!!! To be honest, in my experience most " candida " diagnoses are incorrect. For example, when someone speaks of " having candida " in their digestive tract, they are seriously misguided. For an overload of candida MUST present itself throughout one's system, not just in the digestive tract, nor not even likely FIRST in the digestive tract. I have seen candida described as a fungus that mimics the behavior of yeasts, as a yeastlike organism, and as a variety of yeast. (Yes, the science of biology is filled with interpretation, just as with everything we perceive. :) Candida are ALWAYS present on most of our mucus membranes ... mouth, intestinal tract, vagina, etc. In other words, in small quantities they are part of the flora we require and/or naturally support. These organisms love " standing sugar " ... sugar that is just standing there, not moving from one place to another. This is why, when one puts candida and sugar into a Petri dish. the candida multiply like crazy. But in a living organism, such as a human body, the mere presence of sugar does not, in and of itself, serve to fuel such explosive growth in the candida population. Rather, it is when the sugar " stands still " in the blood, unable to be carried out by insulin, that the candida become aware of the presence of the sugar and move in. And this " standing still " occurs whenever our blood FAT is elevated. So that addresses your first question a bit. As for " how you know you've got it " , I suggest replacing the question. For candida is always a follow-on or secondary symptom. By this, I mean that other symptoms always occur first. If you feel chronically tired or " low-energy " , then in all likelihood your system is having difficulty with blood sugar management. And that's the primary signal or " symptom " to observe. I hope this is helpful!
