Where juicing and smoothies meet (WAS: Whole foods vs. juicing; Trusting Nature's design as paradigm shift; Body cleanses itself)

My impression is that the Buddha, though wise in certain ways, was

nonetheless fat and did not live all that long. If my impression is

incorrect, please let me know!

Here is an idea that some might enjoy, similar, Erin, to your suggestion

about adding the pulp back in. I use citrus juice as an example:

I find that people enjoy many blends, tangerines (when available) make a

great base, and blood oranges (when available) make a great accent. Just

peel the fruit, remove the seeds, and put the fruit into a blender.

(High-speed blenders work very well in this application.) Blend and drink.

This way, you never remove the fiber in the first place. Of course, the food

is still pulverized, filled with air, and at least somewhat oxidized, but

the blending process is typically fairly quick ... so enjoy!!!

Basically, what I'm suggesting is a place where juicing and smoothies meet.

:):):) Of course, as a general habit, I believe that eating the whole foods

is the way to go. And ... we all like treats, alternatives/variety, things

we can share with others, etc. from time to time.

Best,

Elchanan

Hi Laura,

Yes, many people teach about the wonders of juicing. But when we move away

from Nature's design, in this case away from the whole food, we give up a

great deal.

Perhaps a happy medium (The Middle Path of The Buddha? would be to blend or

at least reintroduce the pulp back into your drink to retain the fiber.

This is not just similar, it is exactly what I was proposing when

I wrote that you could blend *or* add back in the pulp. Blending

is my preference between these two choices as well.
