Guest guest
Hi Tanya and all, Of course, each of us travels a unique path. Still, if you are eating dehydrated foods to make some transition " easier " , then those foods will not likely serve your intended purpose. In fact, they will likely slow you down and take you off course. And if you experience transitioning as " difficult " , I offer this: 1. This sense of " difficult " or " hard " arises in your mind, particularly your subconscious mind, not in your diet. For example, if you have eaten in the past to avoid feeling (whether feeling in general or some specific feeling(s)), or if you hold some deep belief that you are unlovable, or not worthwhile, or anything similar, then how you eat may be intertwined with this " programming " in your mind. 2. If I am " on the right track " here, even to a reasonable degree, then the solution also arises in your mind, not in your diet. Your old ways of eating serve various purposes within the context of your life. If you try to rip out those old habits without addressing the very real needs those habits have served for many years, then you will inevitably fall back into those habits or into similar habits, shifted somehow. The last portion of that sentence seems significant here. For example, if you attempt to replace one kind of " fill-me-up " food (i.e., many forms of cooked food) with another form of " fill-me-up " food (i.e., raw dehydrated foods), you will have moved farther sideways than forward. And you will cling to the new habit because it seems familiar, and NOT because it represents the shift you genuinely seem to seek. At this point I've probably said enough, and I'll offer you the following. In the Path of Health Community, we provide various learning programs, many of which we share at no cost with anyone interested. One of those free programs is available at <http://www.pathofhealth.org/Programs & Events/DynamicSelf-Discovery/DoIHaveTw oMindsOrWhat!!--Feb.17.2007CE--PathOfHealth.mp3> Do I Have Two Minds or What? !!--Audio--Path of Health I invite you (and anyone else interested) to download and listen to this program at your convenience. Wishing everyone the very best that love and life have to offer, Elchanan PS: I publish most of my posts in the PathOfHealth Group. _____ rawfood [rawfood ] On Behalf Of The Grrl Thursday, May 03, 2007 2:04 PM rawfood Re: [Raw Food] The problem with dehydrated foods (WAS: Dry oats) I understand and don't disagree with this. I still bought a dehydrator and had dehydrated apples. No, it wasn't optimal, but I still did it. For some people, it seems to be really easy to go raw " overnight. " I don't get why the term " transitional " is " incorrect. " Some people go raw and others move towards it slower. Going towards it slower is what I would call transitioning. From 50% to 60% to 70% raw, etc. It was not easy for me. For those who found it easy, that's great and I wish at times I had been among those who found it easy. I chose to dehydrate. It helped me at times when I wanted something unhealthy, like chips. It's 3 months into this and I'm doing much better. I have moved out of dehydrating and choose to eat things as they are, making a few recipes here and there. I still use the dehydrator for my family, who are not raw. It's a choice. I understood that I wouldn't be eating dehydrated all my life if I were to go raw. Again, I understand and this is valid. I am moving towards the end result in a different way.
