Guest guest
As the person in my family that does 100% of the cooking (or uncooking ), this was a big concern of mine. One of the challenges I have is that my bf will NOT eat raw. He doesn't like most vegetables, none the less raw ones! Here's a couple of tips I've used: 1) Make things simple, which also happens to be healthier. Eat fruit for breakfast and snacks. Either eat it whole, cut it up into a fruit salad, or blend ANY fruits you like together for a smoothie. For lunch, have salads, soups, or sandwiches made from dehydrated bread. Keep in mind that many soup recipes and dehydrating are a little more complex. 2) Try one or two new recipes each week, but otherwise stick with your easy meals. Remember, just because it's called a salad doesn't mean that you can't have a different salad every day. 3) Go to your local Borders, Barnes & Noble, whatever, and pick up all of the raw food books. My B & N had a bunch. I sat down and skimmed through all of them. I decided on 3 because they each had something different. One had a TON of recipes, another had comprehensive info on sprouting and food digestion, and another had a nice mix of both. I now have 4 books and enough recipes to last a lifetime! 4) Pull out your recipe books or look online for recipes at the same time as looking at your sales fliers. Is your grocer having a sale on something? Use the same concepts you've used in the past, just with different ingredients. There are a TON of websites out there with raw food recipes and help. Simply trying googling something that you'd like to have. Just remember, being a raw foodist does NOT mean you have to take days and days to prepare a meal!
