Guest guest
Theresa, What about drinking tea? Sure, it's not raw, but you can find organic varieties. Maybe having that little bit of caffeine in you will help. This, of course, is not a permanent answer, but it seems to help me when I need a pick me up. Another option is to have a piece of fruit. Maybe the natural sugars will help pep you up. Guest guest
Hi Therese, I have found, on the contrary, that eating too much fat such as nuts, seeds, avocado, oils--which I don't recommend anyway-- except for coconuts (I have no idea why this is) actually slows me down and makes me feel lethargic. I actually use this to my advantage when I'm experiencing mood swings due to a sometimes ridiculously full and busy schedule, negative people I work with, lack of sleep, etc (stressers): when I feel like I have too much energy (it's not always a good feeling, sometimes I just feel restless or impatient or short-tempered or anxious, but all of these are symptoms of too much energy, I think) and I don't have time to take a bath, meditate, etc, I just eat a handful of soaked nuts. And conversely, when I'm feeling sluggish or apathetic or spacey, I forbid myself any kind of fat (except coconut, if and only if my body truly craves it) until I have regained abundant and balanced energy-levels, which is usually within a day. It's funny, because most of us were raised to think tired=needs more food, when in fact, it seems the case is often just the opposite. When I'm really tired or feel my immune system weakening, I fast for a day or two. It works! -Storm > rawfood , " Therese Brommel-Fontanini " > <theresebf@> wrote: > > > > Hi to All, > > > > I have been on the raw food diet for awhile but I am experiencing > low > > energy. Guest guest
No, nobody is protein deficient, really. It's like a virtually impossible medical situation to have. DRINK KOMBUCHA TEA. You are surely fermented foods deficient like most rawfoodists. They give energy and enzymes! Guest guest
Therese, Try more fruit. And also exercise. I find that these things help me. Some people find that eating too much fat causes them to be fatigued, so an excess of nuts could be making things worse. I think the whole thing about protein giving you energy is pretty much a myth. Another thought...if you have problems with heavy or long periods, you could be low in iron. Caffeine is going to artificially stimulate you, but it won't get to the root of your fatigue. All the best! I hope you feel better soon. Marjorie > > I have been on the raw food diet for awhile but I am experiencing > low > > energy.
