Black Rice

Hi all,

I'm new to your group. On a recent vacation, I ate at a raw and vegan

resturaunt that served a dice with black rice. I have some black rice,

but I am not sure how to prepare it? Will it have an edible consitancy

if it soaked for a long period of time, will it sprout?

Black wild rice will sprout, for me it takes about 3 days, it will not

get the cooked texture but it will be soft enough to chew. Then

flavor it with vegetables/spice and eat. I have several recipes in my

book " In the Season Thereof: Natural Unprocessed (raw) Food " by

Nadhirrah (www.summerbear.org). What I do is soak the rice in water

for the 3 days changing the water everyday. FYI brown rice will

sprout but will not taste good, the organic black wild rice tastes the

best, white rice will not sprout at all.
