As with all nightshade plants when vine ripened the toxins are pulled out by the vine. I don't eat raw potatoes very often just because I don't care for them. My mom used to eat the raw before she went raw and occasionally does now the key is again make sure it is ripe and not green. Some legumes are ok to eat sprouted and raw (garbanzo beans, adzuki beans, lentils etc.) > Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
