Guest guest
Hi Christie, Welcome to the group also! I have a soon-to-be 9 year old son and he's been a vegetarian his whole life. He made the connection that meat was dead animals early on and didn't want any part of it. He is very proud to be a vegetarian. When he was about 4 we watched " Supersize Me " . Soon afterwards, they had a " Happy Meal " day at his preschool. He not only refused the Happy Meal (including the fries) on the grounds of being a vegetarian, he also refused the toy and soft drink because it was from McDonald's. He also announced to his class that they were all going to throw up from eating McDonald's. haha! His teacher was a bit annoyed and when she was telling me about it, the pride was just bubbling up inside me. LOL. Children take in EVERYTHING! As parents, we have to model what we want for our children. I hope you enjoy it here, Susie --- Christie <ganyssa wrote: > I am also a fairly new (6 months) vegetarian > (vegan), single mom of one daughter, age 7, and new > to the list.
