Guest guest
My name is Michelle, wife and mother of 2 kids and 1 dog! I explained to my kids (husband already knew) of why I won't eat meat, milk, eggs or fish anymore. My daughter age 5 said it's ok mommy but I'm still eating steak. So I've really started making meals seperately for myself from the rest of the family but make the kids try my stuff too. Really trying hard to get my 5yo to understand better of why it's wrong to kill her food. I figure if I can get anyone to understand why I feel so strongly about being a vegetarian it will be her. Guest guest
I am also a fairly new (6 months) vegetarian (vegan), single mom of one daughter, age 7, and new to the list. When I first became a vegan after watching Earthlings, I explained to my daughter why I wasn't eating meat, dairy, eggs, etc anymore. I wasn't cooking it for her anymore, but I was allowing her to choose other places like friend's houses and things. She still went to McDonald's with her grandmother and didn't seem too bothered about the animals. Over a couple of months, she started asking me questions, and became a vegetarian two or three months later. Last week she decided she wanted to be vegan. She seems excited so far. I guess my point is that she may surprise you one day. Christie. - Michelle Wednesday, January 07, 2009 11:34 PM Another brand new vegetarian and member!!
