Guest guest Posted December 2, 2008 Report Share Posted December 2, 2008 Sweedish Thumbprint Cookies a.. 1 cup butter, softened a.. 1/2 cup white sugar a.. 2 cups sifted all-purpose flour a.. 1 T. orange zest a.. 1 t. vanilla extract or almond extract a.. 1/2 cup any flavor fruit jam (we like raspberry best, but all were great) DIRECTIONS 1.. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). 2.. Using an electric hand mixer, cream butter, sugar and vanilla until light and fluffy. Add sifted flour, and mix well. Stir in Orange zest. Shape dough into 1 inch diameter balls(or use small melon ball scoop) and place on cookie sheets. Imprint your thumb in the center to make a 1/2 inch indentation. 3.. Can use a 1/4 t. rounded spoon, using the back to make the indention and scoop jelly with the spoon size to fill the indention with. (We did this. ) 4.. Fill with your favorite preserves. 5..
