Grandma's Famous Cranberry Bread 1/4 cup margarine or butter 1 cup sugar 2 cups flour 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp baking soda 1 egg, slightly beaten 1 tsp. grated orange peel 3/4 cup orange juice 1/2 cup chopped nuts 1 1/2 cups fresh or frozen cranberries, chopped Blend butter and sugar in a large bowl. Stir in dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, salt, baking soda. Add egg, orange peel, orange juice all at once and stir just intil mixture is evenly moist. (Batter will be thick). Fold in chopped cranberries and chopped nuts. Spread in a greased 9x5x3 loaf pan. Bake @ 350 for 55 minutes, or until a toothpick insterted in center comes out clean.
