CHECK YOUR SPAM FOLDER

NOTICE:   I have a new habit.  Thought you all might be interested.

has a thing where they will scan your e-mail as it comes in and send

obvious things to your Spam folder...so you don't have to wade through and

delete.  Well, I went through that folder and found some messages that were not

Spam...and should have been in my  IN BOX.   One of them was from this group.

So, now I am checking the Spam folder daily...When I find an INBOX item, I click

on it...There is a box up top called " NOT SPAM " .

When you click that, the e-mail is returned to your INBOX...

Then, I delete the contents of Spam folder...so it is not a tedious chore to

check it next day.

I wonder how many messages I have never seen that I should have seen???

I bet it would be good spread out in a casserole dish and baked. I hadn't

thought about it until you asked, but it should. We browned them in a little oil

in a cast iron skillet on the stove and they were nice and crispy.

Will definitely try this. I wonder if it would be good for a meatloaf?

Tofu Walnut Patties or Burgers

These are delicious. We had them with our lunch today. I just love the

walnut flavor in them.

Tofu Walnut Patties or Burgers

1/2 block tofu (1/2 pound regular firm)

1 cup oatmeal, uncooked

1 cup whole wheat bread crumbs

1/3 cup gluten(bread) flour

1 onion, chopped

1/2 cup walnuts, finely chopped

1 1/2 teaspoons McKays or Bills Best beef-style bouillon(vegetarian )

1/4 - 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon salt

2 teaspoons savory or 1 teaspoon sage or use your favorite seasoning

1 cup water (more or less depending on brand of tofu used)

Crumble tofu into fine pieces, similar to small cottage cheese curds.

Combine oatmeal, bread crumbs, and gluten flour together and add to tofu.

Add remaining ingredients and mix well. (I use my hands.) If using bouillon

cube, dissolve in the water before adding to the mix. Be careful with the

water and add only as much as you need to make a mix that is not too wet.

Form into patties or burgers, with your hands and fry slowly until golden

brown on both sides or bake on an oil coated cookie sheet in a 350 degree

oven for 20 minutes, turning after 10 minutes. This mixture may also be

used for meat balls.

Makes about 24 small patties or about 16 burger patties.

These patties are delicious just as they are or may be served with gravy or

pasta sauce. They make excellent burgers and are great in a cold sandwich.

Serves: 16-24
