Guest guest
We live along the Rogue River in southern Oregon. I know every time I go rafting, I will get sick with mild flu-like symptoms: body aches, fever, etc. People have told me it is from the water bacteria. My friend's reaction was extreme. She got a bladder infection when it started, and being diabetic, her system couldn't fight it off naturally like some people can. Add to that her being very stubborn, and she would not go to the doctor for an antibiotic when she should have. The infection spread up to her kidneys and then into her blood. She almost died when she crashed and her body went into a diabetic coma. Now she has to do daily shots and is really struggling to regulate her sugar levels, poor girl. I don't think you have to worry about it though unless you do the Rogue and notice you get sick after rafting. Natives have told me it is from the water getting fouled from run off. ~ PT ~ , Lisamarie Dean <antcheek wrote: > > Wow if I may ask how did your friend get a blood infection river rafting? I'm asking because I like to do that, so this may be something I need to watch out for.
