Guest guest
I recently found out I was allergic, but I am trying to figure out what to eat now. My body requires predominantly high protein and low carbs. Learned through lots of trial and error. I replaced meat with dairy and now I can't! Any ideas, other than beans? I also limit soy intake. Thanks guys for your help...I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed. Guest guest
Were you mostly cosuming dairy for calcium, Kerri? If that is the case dairy has been said to actually leech calcum from bones anyway, so better sources of calcium besides beans are green leafy vegetables, soymilk(in moderation), dried fruits, oats, broccoli, cabbage, tofu, almond/raisin mix, chickpeas, sesame seeds, squash, sunflower seeds, and pistachios. Also, here is a link with a little more info on calcium. According to this it isn't large amounts of calcium that makes the bones stronger; it's some kind of weight-bearing excersise that does that: www.bobbyrock.wordpress.com/page/2/. Hope this helps. Guest guest
Hi Lisamarie! Thanks for the info! No, it was for protein since I do not ingest much soy, and beans are really hard on my stomach, so I have to minimize them as well. It seemed the easiest alternative. I do have Pea Protein powder to make shakes with and I can eat eggs if I have to, but I was looking for some other options that may be available to me.
