Guest guest
These are a favorite at potlucks. We love them. Hot, Sour and Sweet Pickles 1 gallon of whole Valasic Dill Pickles(don't use pre-sliced, it really makes a difference in the taste)) 1 16 oz jar of sliced Jalapeno's Peeled whole garlic cloves Sugar Drain the pickles of juice and discard it. Slice them into thick circle slices in a separate bowl. Then layer in this order back into the pickle jar. 1 cup of sliced pickles 1 cup sugar Several slices of Jalapeno's Several peeled whole garlic cloves Keep layering like this until the pickles are used up. Leave it out on the counter top and every few hours flip the jar over(set into a bowl in case any leaks out) and let set like that for several hours. and then back up right, and so on... After 2 days these are ready to eat. The sugar will dissolve and make it's own juice. They are absolutely delicious, very addicting and will give you very garlicky breath. LOL A dear elderly lady at our church used to make these for every potluck we had and they were gone quickly. She had a side business of selling these to different folks. I was so blessed that she finally shared her recipe with me shortly before her mind completely went with Alzheimer's. My KIDS LOVE THESE. They make them up as soon as we buy a jar of pickles.
