Guest guest
I found a recipe online for making instant refried beans by grinding dried pinto beans into a powder then adding spices and such, making a slurry of them with water in a frying pan and finish up as one does with refried beans. It was all right but not that great as we like bits of bean and even whole beans in our refried beans. (My husband and I have been vegetarians over 20 years now). I also tried the same thing with some dehydrated (not dry) beans and was able to keep some larger pieces and whole beans in. They were good, but not as good as beans from scratch. The final one I tried was refried bean powder I found online. Of the other two methods, it was preferable but the price was prohibitive. All in all, beans from scratch still tasted the best, but in an emergency the bean powder would work ok. Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Mobile. Try it now.
