Guest guest
Here is another recipe I have made in the past for the month of May that I got from one of my favorite vegetarian cookbooks. The source is listed below the recipe and if you enjoy making seasonal dishes to celebrate the changing of the seasons you would be wise to purchase this book. May Wine 1 bottle strawberry or cherry juice [i used POM ] 1 bottle white wine, chilled such as Chardonnay 1 bottle strawberry or pear juice, chilled 1 pint ripe strawberries, stemmed, washed, sliced Sweet woodruff (optional)* Using one bottle of strawberry or cherry juice, make ice cubes the night before. On the day you are planning to serve, combine the wine with the other chilled juice in a large container. Wrap the sweet woodruff in a piece of cheesecloth to make an infusion, and immerse the herb into the beverage. Keep chilled for one hour. Remove bag, pour wine mixture into a serving bowl or pitcher, and add in the sliced strawberries and juice ice cubes. Make a proper May Day [aka Beltane] toast and enjoy!
