I cleaned out the fridge today and made a large pot of kitchen sink veggie soup

for the three of us, and cooked some meat for the carnivorous grandson's soup.

We sat down about 12 and shared lunch and he enjoyed his soup, despite it having

some things in it that he thinks he hates (chopped mushrooms, spinach, etc).

After we finished, he said " Needed more meat. "

That is when I realized that I hadn't put any meat in his soup.

Kitchen Sink Soup of the Day

Cherry tomatoes, parboiled and skinned

Corn

Peas

Carrots

Frenched green beans

Potatoes (Yukon gold)

V8 juice

Magi seasoning (vegan)

Spinach

Onion

Mushrooms minced to the point he couldn't see them and swear I was trying to

poison him

Celery

Black beans (pre-cooked)

Fresh basil

Fresh parsley

Fresh bay leaves

Rosemary

black pepper

ABC pasta

Water as needed

Olive oil to saute onion, celery

Pretty sure that is all I put in. My rosemary bush looks like it went through a

war, so I had to use dry rosemary, same with peppercorns, but the rest of the

herbs came from my yard. I'm making a large peach cobbler to make up for

forgetting the meat, so he's going to forgive me.

That is such a cute story! [laughs]

Your soup sounds yummy, too.

yet all those years I was chasing after it, I was unhappy

in the pursuit. Maybe the goal really should be a life that
