I use fresh vegetables when in season, frozen or canned in winter. Makes 6 servings. -- 3 c. water 2 Tbsp. Bill's Best Chick'nish Seasoning or use the recipe I sent in.(the water and the Chick'nish seasoning make a broth) 1 (11.5 ounce) can V8-Juice 1 large potato, diced 2 carrots, sliced 2 stalks celery, diced 1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes 1 cup chopped fresh green beans or 1 16 oz. can green beans 1/4 cup. chopped onions 1 cup fresh corn kernels or frozen 1 4 0Z. can of sliced mushrooms 1 can fried gluten(you find this in Asian stores, the brand I buy is Wu Chung that has the curry seasoning in the fried gluten) http://firstfood.com.sg/products.php?cid=8 salt and pepper to taste Creole seasoning to taste - Recipe below OR use Tony Chachere's Creole Seasoning Directions 1 In a large stock pot, combine broth, tomato juice, potatoes, carrots, celery, undrained chopped tomatoes, green beans, fried gluten and broth in the can(cut this up in small pieces). Season with salt, pepper and Creole seasoning. Bring to a boil and simmer for 30 minutes or until all vegetables are tender. Remove from burner and stir in the corn. Cover and let set for 5 minutes. Serve. Creole Seasoning Blend " This Creole seasoning blend is great for seasoning rice, meats, soups and stews, or anything that needs a flavor boost. Also makes a great gift when placed in a decorative jar with recipe attached. " Original recipe yield: 1 1/4 cups (20 tablespoons). 2 tablespoons onion powder a.. 2 tablespoons garlic powder b.. 2 tablespoons dried oregano c.. 2 tablespoons dried basil d.. 1 tablespoon dried thyme e.. 1 tablespoon black pepper f.. 1 tablespoon white pepper g.. 1 tablespoon cayenne pepper h.. 5 tablespoons paprika i.. 3 tablespoons salt 1.. In a small bowl, combine onion powder, garlic powder, oregano, basil, thyme, black pepper, white pepper, cayenne pepper, paprika and salt. Store in an airtight container.
