Sent from the wrong email address! Grrr! _____ Penny [pennyfrench] Thursday, November 22, 2007 9:34 PM ' '; Spicy Vegetarian Group; ' ' Need some help Okay, I tried my tofu/bella turkey roll and it had the right texture but the flavor was still a bit on the bland side. Here’s what I put in and sorry, no measurements except for the amount of tofu because I learned to cook from my grandma who never measured anything! 2 pounds of tofu ½ box of baby bella mushrooms, minced Poultry seasoning Salt Pepper Liquid smoke I pressed it for 3 hours like the recipes I found online said (which left it a bit crumbly, another thing I’d like to fix) and then cooked it for an hour at 400 degrees, again following a recipe I found @ AllRecipes.com. I basically took their recipe and used it as a guideline, but didn’t really follow it closely because I didn’t want to put stuffing inside of it, just wanted to make a roll. Texture-wise, it was fine I guess, but I would have liked a tighter roll, you know what I mean? Also it was a bit on the bland side. I’m thinking maybe adding some minced onion or garlic to it might improve and punch up the flavor. It wasn’t a total failure – I’m going to eat the leftovers (at least until I can’t stand them anymore), but I would like to improve on it. So, anyone out there got some advice on what to add to bring more flavor to it?
