Guest guest
Here are some entree ideas for Thanksgiving that we really enjoy. Don't forget my newest favorite Jalopeno and Prosage Dressing recipe that I sent in earlier today. We enjoy making Fried " Chicken " . It comes in a can with broth, so is already wet for making the Italian bread crumbs stick to it. We take Worthington Frichik and bread in some Italian Bread Crumbs and fry on both sides in some hot oil. http://www.kelloggs.com/cgi-bin/brandpages/product.pl?product=374 & company=41 Don't forget to save the broth to make a gravy with or add to soup later. I freeze it in a ziploc bag until I need it. Another idea is to take frozen Worthington Smoked " Turkey " Vegetable Protein slices http://www.kelloggs.com/cgi-bin/brandpages/product.pl?product=398 & company=41 , and heat in a skillet and serve. It is delicious. Sometimes I take these slices and fold like a taco and put my stuffing inside it and line them up like taco's in a baking pan. When I make Cornbread dressing I use the Frichik cut up into the batter. Pour it into the pan And then I cut the Worthington " Turkey " slices in half and just press them into the casserole leaving the rounded side up to show. It is pretty and sooooo good. I'll have to send in my cornbread dressing recipe. You can buy both of these products at Adventist book centers(they have a great health food store in them) world wide. http://www.adventistbookcenter.com/ Click on store locator on the side to find a location near you. The website does not list the health foods products, but they have a huge supply at their stores and will ship to you, if you ask. It is worth the drive to a location near you. I drive 1 3/4 hrs to my closest one. I take a large cooler to put frozen and refrigerated items into. With many products being frozen they last a long time, so you can stock up. I do other shopping in that area too and make a day of it. Also some health food stores and grocery stores carry them. I also buy cases of Worthington Frichik off Amazon, for a great price, with no shipping or sales tax. http://www.amazon.com/Worthington-FriChik-12-5-Ounce-Cans-Pack/dp/B000BF3AJ2 This is a case of 12 cans. We love this stuff and use it in soups, casseroles, pasta dishes, " chicken " salad and so much more. Happy Thanksgiving, Judy
Guest guest
More great options! Thanks Judy. I love that amazon.com is now selling the worthington & loma linda products. That way people like me can try them, too. With all the ideas and options for us vegetarians we truly do have much to be thankful for! ~ PT ~ This is the treacherous month when autumn days With summer's voice come bearing summer's gifts. Beguiled, the pale down-trodden aster lifts Her head and blooms again. The soft, warm haze Makes moist once more the sere and dusty ways, And, creeping through where dead leaves lie in drifts, The violet returns. Snow noiseless sifts Ere night, an icy shroud, which morning's rays Willidly shine upon and slowly melt, Too late to bid the violet live again. The treachery, at last, too late, is plain; Bare are the places where the sweet flowers dwelt. What joy sufficient hath November felt? What profit from the violet's day of pain? ~ Helen Hunt Jackson, Autumn Sonnet , " wwjd " <jtwigg wrote: > > Here are some entree ideas for Thanksgiving that we really enjoy.
