APPLE PIE CAKE

 

1 cup sugar

1/4 cup soft shortening

2 eggs

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

1 cup flour

1 teaspoon soda

2 cups cut up apples

1/2 cup nuts

 

Mix sugar and shortening. Add eggs one at a time, mixing after each

addition. Add salt, cinnamon and nutmeg and mix again. Add remaining

ingredients and turn into a well greased nine inch pie pan.

 

Pull batter to edge of pan, making the center lower than on the sides.

 

Bake for 40 minutes or until done at 350°
