Guest guest
Hi everyone, long time reader, first time questioner. My husband is Chinese, and one of the things he really misses from his childhood are humbaus, little buns with pork in them. While surfing the web, I stumbled upon a recipe for the dough, and thought, " Ah ha! I'll just zip down to the store and get some of that fake pork I like. " only to discover that the stores up here don't sell it. So.... does anyone know how to make a good fake bar-b-que pork? I have no clue where to even start. Thanks. Guest guest
What was the name of that fake pork brand you used to buy? I was thinking maybe you coud find it to buy online. Aso, I like the flavor of the Gardenburger brand BBQ riblets; they might shred up and work in your recipe. My husband loves those little steamed buns too. I have never made them before. A friend I work with is half Chinese and has a recipe. She used to be vegetarian when she was growing up but she has promised to soon bring un some of those to work with a batch made veggie for me. ~ PT ~ I think of a hero as someone who understands the degree of responsibility that comes with their freedom. ~ Bob Dylan ~~~*~~*~~~*~~~*~~> , Katherine Lokken <makanidreamdancer wrote: > > Hi everyone, long time reader, first time questioner. > > > My husband is Chinese, and one of the things he really > misses from his childhood are humbaus, little buns > with pork in them.
