Hi everyone, long time reader, first time questioner.

;)

My husband is Chinese, and one of the things he really

misses from his childhood are humbaus, little buns

with pork in them. While surfing the web, I stumbled

upon a recipe for the dough, and thought, " Ah ha!

I'll just zip down to the store and get some of that

fake pork I like. " only to discover that the stores up

here don't sell it. So.... does anyone know how to

make a good fake bar-b-que pork? I have no clue where

to even start.

Thanks.

Katie

What was the name of that fake pork brand you

used to buy? I was thinking maybe you coud find

it to buy online. Aso, I like the flavor of the

Gardenburger brand BBQ riblets; they might shred

up and work in your recipe.

My husband loves those little steamed buns too.

I have never made them before. A friend I work with is

half Chinese and has a recipe. She used to be vegetarian

when she was growing up but she has promised to

soon bring un some of those to work with a batch made

veggie for me.
