Place the broccoli florets in a steaming basket with 2 inches of water in the pot beneath the basket and cover. 2. Bring to a boil over a high heat and steam for approximately 4-5 minutes, or until the broccoli is bright green and fork tender. Serves: 4. Note: Steaming preserves the nutrients in broccoli. Nutrition Information: Per serving (1/2 cup) = Calories 13, Carbohydrate 3 g, Fat 1 g, Fiber 1 g, Protein 1 g, Saturated Fat 0 g, Sodium 159 mg.
