Guest guest Posted October 12, 2007 Report Share Posted October 12, 2007 Winter Vegetables Au Gratin ~~~Cheese Sauce~~~ 1/4 cup margarine 1/4 cup all purpose flour 1 tsp. salt 2 cups milk 1/2 lb. Velveet cheese. chopped In 2 quart sauce pan, melt margarine over low heat. Stir in flour and salt. Add milk, stirring until smooth. Increase heat to medium and cook until mixture boils, stirring constantly. Continue cooking and stirring 1 minute longer. Add cheese, stirring until melted. Remove from heat. ~~~Topping~~~ 3 cups corn flakes cereal 2 TB margarine, melted 1/8 tsp. garlic powder In small bowl, combine corn flakes, margarine and garlic powder. Set aside. 1 pkg. (1 lb.) frozen carrots cauliflower and broccoli mix Cook vegetables according to package directions, until crisp- tender. Drain thoroughly. Combine hot vegetables and cheese sauce. Mix well and spread evenly in shallow 1-1/2 quart casserole dish. Sprinkle with Topping mixture. Bake at 350° F., about 30 minutes or until thoroughly heated and cereal is golden brown. Serve hot.
