Guest guest
As requested, here is one of my favorite Halloween type recipe. This makes a fun snack during the harvest season. Make sure you buy the veggie-safe brands of candy corns. Brachs brand has geletin, but Farley's is veggie last I checked. Same caution for the Worchestershire sauce; many brands contain anchovies. But there are a few brands that are veggie. Kroger is safe. Jack-O-Lantern Jumble 4 cups Corn Chex 4 cups Rice Chex 1 cup salted peanuts 1/4 cup butter or margarine 1/4 cup peanut butter 2 1/4 tsp Worchestershire 1/2 tsp salt 1/4 tsp garlic pwdr 1 cup candy corn In a large bowl, combine cereal and peanuts. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the butter, peanut butter, Worchestershire sauce, salt, and garlic pwdr; cook and stir until butter and peanut butter are melted. Pour over cereal mixture and toss to coat. Spread into a greased 15x10x1 inch baking pan. Bake at 250 for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minute. Cool; stir in candy corn. Store in an air-tight container. Yield: about 2 quarts ~ PT ~ Of all the wonders of nature, a tree in summer is perhaps the most remarkable; with the possible exception of a moose singing " Embraceable You " in spats. ~ Woody Allen
