Vanderhoof, British Columbia, Canada...at the 54th parallel and

geographical centre of the province

It snowed two days ago (*argh*). The leaves were changing colour and

autumn crispness was in the air in mid-August, with the first frost

happening a few weeks ago. We now have full-fledged autumnal

colours, migratory birds passing through by the thousands, frost

almost daily, and it hasn't gotten warmer than 10*C (50*F) during

the day for a couple of weeks now. 'Tis the season to put on snow

tires and stoke up the wood stove (if I had one).
