Guest guest
The delicious smells of BBQ can really make your mouth water, that's for sure. But typically it is the sauce the meat is marinated in that gives any BBQ the wonderful appetizing scent. The actual smell of roasting dead animals alone is not all that delicious smelling, especially if you are a vegetarian. I find it to be a turn off, but then I never liked meat. I have found several good alternatives that I can brush with BBQ sauce or soak in marninades and they take the place of the BBQ meat on my plate so I don't feel deprived or left out of that dining situation. For BBQ chicken, I like to use a Quorn cutlet that has been marinated in the Italian dressing marinade. I will brush it with some olive oil and have it grilled separate. I also like to sometimes brush it with BBQ sauce ~ which is vegetarian ~ and very yummy. Marinated tofu is good too. Also veggie burgers grilled and brushed with sauces are quite yummy. Hope this helps.
