Guest guest
I promised this recipe and have just had time to type it up. Enjoy, Judy Corn Dogs Batter 1 c. Yellow Corn Meal 4 t. baking powder 2 t. sugar 2 eggs 1 c. unbleached all purpose flour 1 t. salt 1 c. milk --------- 1 20oz. can of Loma Linda Linketts, Big Franks or Worthington Vega-Links (Vegetarian Hot Dogs) Mix the dry ingredients together. Add milk and eggs. Stir until blended. Take the Vegetarian Hot Dogs out of the can and pat completely dry with paper towels or the batter won't stick. Coat the Vegetarian Hot Dogs with the mixture and deep fry until brown. This enough batter for 18 -20 Hot Dogs. Each can of Linketts and Big Franks has about 8 vegetarian hot dogs. The Big Franks are larger, so they won't have as many in a can. If you don't want to make Corn Dogs out of all the batter, you can freeze it for a latter use, or batter some green tomatoes, okra, etc... or make hush puppies out of it by dropping spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil and frying. *If you want to go ahead and fry up a lot of Corn Dogs, you can freeze them after frying. Let them cool completely before freezing in ziplock bags. Then bake them later on when you want them for a quick meal.
Guest guest
Ok I see these hot dogs and was wondering which is the best veggie dogs out there? I tend to like the ones by Yves (Good Dogs) but wonder if there is something more authentic to real hot dogs. Sorry but i grew up on real dogs and want that taste. I guess if I had grown acustom to the tofu variety I'd not have this hunger. Thanks, Cam
