Guest guest Posted July 3, 2007 Report Share Posted July 3, 2007 Hi Kyra, The only wild mushrooms I've ever gathered and eaten are Morel mushrooms. They cannot be mistaken for anything else. Their shape is unmistakeable, they have a sponge-like cap. Try this site, it has some very nice photos of them: http://morelmushroomhunting.com/ Personally I'd be very cautious about trying to identify other types on my own. There are some very poisonous varieties out there which look very similar to edible varieties.
