Guest guest
Hi Susie, I'm sorry that this is so late. I meant answer you straight away and I honestly thought I had done so but I discovered this morning that I hadn't yet replied to your message. Another way we sometimes choose new recipes is that I ask Hans to go to the store cupboard or fridge and choose an ingredient. It doesn't matter what it is - sometimes it could just be a particular herb or spice and other times it might be pasta, beans, a vegetable etc. The idea is that I then use that ingredient in a new recipe. I know what you mean about not having time to cook when you are working. When I was working full time we ate much easier meals than we do now. I tried to get as much prepared before I left for work and I would leave my husband a note of what needed to be done to finish the meal off. As he was home an hour before me it worked well and I would not have to start work in the kitchen when I arrived home at 6:45 PM. It was so nice to be able to come home to a meal ready to eat. Cheers from Marie _____ On Behalf Of artichoke72x Monday, April 09, 2007 4:24 PM Re: VERY late response - sorry RE: QOTW: How do you get out of a rut? i like that idea marie. at one point i was trying to cook 1 or 2 new recipes a week. since i've gone back to work, i'm lucky if i cook at all. susie --- Marie Rieuwers <rieuwers (AT) xs4all (DOT) <rieuwers%40xs4all.nl> nl> wrote: > I have all my cookbooks listed on a data base so > each one has a number. > Each week I ask my husband to choose a number at > random from 1 to whatever > happens to be the highest number on my data base at > that time.
