Guest guest
My advice to a new vegetarian is: don't sweat it. It's ok to " mess up " and eat meat sometimes. I weaned myself off. Start small and work your way up: - instead of meat-lover's pizza, get just ham and pineapple or pepperoni and mushroom - then just the veggie or just cheese - skip the bacon double-cheeseburger and just get a single - OR go to Burger King and get a double and ask them to sub in a BK Veggie patty for one of the meat burgers OR order bacon on your BK Veggie - then try just a BK Veggie when you are used to that - get Nachos Bell Grande with no meat, you won't miss it the way you would in a taco - get mozzerella sticks and put them in wing sauce instead of chicken -- eventually you will start reading your sauce labels for anchovies, but don't bother with that until you are ready - make Rice Krispy treats with Fluff instead of marshmallows - no geletin and it seems easier to clean out of the melt pan (I could just be imagining that) - Mini Altoids instead of Altoids - no geletin and no annoying powder all over your purse/pocket - quality veggie jerky -- it really is as good as beef jerky and not any more money - Bacos - creepy, but they really don't have meat in them Little changes add up! Baby steps on the bus... baby steps on the bus... Caitlin All girl. All vegetarian. All rock. Guest guest
I find BK Veggie burgers really tasty and my husband could barely taste the difference between my veggie burger and his whopper... (I'm sure his heart could tell the difference tho...)
