Question about processed soy and hormones

Hi folks,

I'm new here. I have been a vegetarian since 1986. I am a 50-something man.

I have run into a problem that I wonder if anyone in this group has had with soy

products.

Basically, if I eat much of the processed soy products, it really screws up my

male

hormones. When I quit eating the processed soy food, my hormones are closer to

normal.

Anyone else have this problem? Does anyone know if soy which has not been

processed

(into veggie burgers, veggie chicken, etc.) has an impact on hormones?

I didn't realize that processed soy can affect hormones in both women and men

until a

nutritionist told me this. I was skeptical initially, but my hormone tests

proved it out.

Then, I began to research the internet and found it mentioned on many websites.

I have heard of this happening before,

but have not experienced it for myself.

I don't eat a lot of soy products... maybe just

one or two items a week. I think moderation

is the key with most everything.

The good thing in all this is there is endless

variety in the vegetarian diet. Enjoy all the rest. :)
