Guest guest
Heh! Whitney, come over and live here. Folks around here just simply loves brussels sprout and can't get enough of it So, you won't find disgusting people like that over here. I had a good crop of brussels sprouts in my allotment recently and there are none left That's because I shared them with the folks in my allotment. I just came back from my allotment with a bagfull of brocoli They are so tender and delicious That man was ignorant and " clueless " . Don't let that one person get you down. Be happy! you have lots of good friends here This is how simple it is to cook my brussels ;- Take a few leaves off and cut the bottom off. Cut a " cross " at the bottom to make it cook faster. Boil the sprouts in a pan with a pinch of salt, till tender. Drain it in a colander and spread it out on an oval dish. Now saute some chopped onions and garlic in a skillet with Olive Oil. Pour over the sprouts and enjoy I like to garnish it with " roasted " sesame seeds and cashew nuts. Whoa! when I do this, there are usually none left within 5 minutes. PS. I am going to do the same with my purple sprouting brocoli. Keep good and be happy Wee On 13 Mar 2007 at 12:53, starrypryncess wrote: > OMG... Guest guest
Okay, while I am in total agreement over the icky factor with brussel sprouts (I will try the new recipies however to give them another chance..I object to the smell more than anything!!) I agree with my horror over the dad's reaction to sprouts. Just chalk it up to fear of the unknown. It is why I would never eat liver as a kid or food of a color not normally found in nature. wee wrote: Heh! Whitney, come over and live here. Guest guest
Ok Wee I'll move :-). LOL I almost told the guy that lots of people eat brussel sprouts. My husband is a produce guy and they are one of the top movers during Christmas and Thanksgiving! I wonder if the man has ever even tried brussel sprouts? I am glad that my rant led to a new round of recipes ;-) I still don't like brussel sprouts though, but I will be feeding them to my children.
