New here.

Hello everyone! I'm new to this group, but not new to the vegetarian lifestyle. I'm 27 from Nebraska, mother to 2, wife, and have been a vegetarian for 11 years. I was excited to find this group--I'm tired of the same ole veggie foods--time for some new recipes!! Hope to get to know all of you and looking forward to exchanging recipes!Take care,Jessica

Hi, I'm new, thought I'd drop a line. I found your group and joined,

well, because I really liked the name! ;) My family of 6 - myself,

hubby, 7 yr old daughter, 2 Papillons, and C.C. (Christopher Columbus)

the Hamster - live in Murray, Utah (yes, Utah) - we are vegetarian,

always striving to make better choices. Our current goal - to give up

Cheese, Ah, the agony...HAHA! Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Namaste - J.

I'm new here too, hoping to get some great recipes.

Have you tried the soy cheese products? I know they are vastly different than

the real thing, apparently an acquired taste. (One that I never acquired!)

Hi Pam! Yes, we have tried the fake cheeses. Um...Yuck. hehe! I guess I need

an awesome alternative, or help my family learn that things just don't need

cheese on 'em? :) I did hear that Follow your Heart fake cheese is pretty

good, but have yet to find it...

On another note - I just made homemade " refried " beans! Not really, but used

dry pintos, with a HUGE amount of garlic, onions, and sea salt - cooked them

overnight in my slow cooker, and you know, they really turned out good! It was

a first for me - I am HAPPY! Bean and NO cheese burritos for dinner tonight.

:):):)
